Stranglers and Eightballs by ADakin Stranglers and Eightballs by ADakin
Photomanip that went through a crapload of concept changes. Final product turned out nothing like what I first went looking for, but I guess I like it.

Bunch of textures from Resurgere, couple stocks from StockXChange, plus a few stocks and tex's from random deviants.

Really nice and simple: from the grass to the sky and the man in the background -- it's all very good.

I am curious, where did you get the eight ball? I really like this.

Do I hear a favorite?

(if this is a double comment it is because my other didn't post.)

No, it is a cropped stock shot. I just removed all of the highlights and reflections and messed around a pinch texture and colour.

Not specifically, sorry.
I think somewhere in the DA stocks. Probably the 'objects' section?

By far my favourite piece in your gallery - I love what you've done with different sources to create this final piece.

As I mentioned before you have a very gritty feel to your work - I love it. I'm reminded of another artist on DA who you might be interested in: ~subzosa

The textures here really create a harsh atmosphere, and heighten the size difference between the ball and the figure. I'm really drawn to the layered feel of the sky - really nice how you've blended those straight edges together.

I saw this a while ago, and as I was learning the ropes here at DA, I guess I thought I had favorited this, but alas in my newbie status, I did not.

I have come here to rectify this, and make sure it's done now.

I think what makes this work for me, is the 'paper' effect at the top portion of the image. It just really catches my eye, and makes me want to look longer at it. It's very engaging.

This is a great manip even if it's not where you wanted to go with it, sometimes results can be surprising and thought envoking even if the goal isn't accomplished. Great job, I love the slant of the ground, implying motion towards the tiny man (or just a huge 8 ball). And I like the sky and how it's broken up in segments with multiple overlays... great job and :+fav: p.s. the layout of the entire shot is great too... like an elongated polaroid :)

The texture and composition creates a such an interesting atmosphere, you can almost hear the silent. Love what you did with the sky especially, squares instead of some rounded clouds.

Gon'a give this a rare fav from the stock account, great work dog.
